Evaluation Question 1: Stacio Fernandes
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The house genre is a very divers and creative in the way that they don't have a set off rules to follow when making a music video. Each house music is unique and powerful in the way they grab the audiences attention and the way that they make the audience want to be in that music video.

My music video tried to tell a story of a teenager roaming around London trying to have fun and trying to get the most out of life. This is similar to a music video by Tiƫsto - Red Lights which also follows a same story line of the character trying to get the most out of her life. This music video also emphasis on one of the characters throughout the music video, which I took inspiration from when creating my music video.
I also took Inspiration from Avicii - Broken Arrows to use both day and night in our music video to show what our main character does during those time and how he feels during night time in comparison to day time. This is similar to this music video as at night time the main character goes out drinking while during the day scenes he is trying to be an athlete.

Furthermore when researching conventions of a music video I cam across Andre Goodwin who was a theorist who came up with rules that you must follow to keep the conventions of your chosen genre which will guarantee a real media product.
Music videos more often than not tend to include a demonstration of typical genre characteristics

There are frequent references to the notion of looking and the voyeuristic treatment of the female/male body
The notion of looking includes men or women being portrayed seductively or if there is eye contact with the camera. I used a bright white light to bring out his facial feature and used a mid angle to make him look more appealing.

The record label which the artist is assigned to tends to have certain demands.
As we were the record label we wanted to have a lot of close ups of the artist and we wanted to create this urban teenager style to fit in with the teenage audience.
There is a succinct relationship between music and visuals.
The music video and the visuals to go with it linked in the way that he is looking for love and is going around London trying to find love.
Magazine Advert

bpgjis
We wanted to make sure our magazine advert and digipack looked similar to each other and could easily be linked with each other. We did this by using a shot of our main character. From the series of shots we had we decided that we wanted to use a mid shot of our character revealing his costume. We wanted our advert to catch the eyes of our target audience. We did this by using photoshop to define some of his features and to turn the tones down to give the magazine advert a calming look. We also made sure that we got rid of any spots or facial skin flaws through the use of photoshop.
When choosing what layout we would use for our magazine advert we took inspiration from Kings of Leon who had the name of their band name at the top of the magazine advert. This magazine advert also uses the face of their band members on the front just like we do. Furthermore we also decide to use Green Day's magazine advert as another inspiration when it came to choosing what image we wanted on the advert. On the Green Day one they use Billy Joel Armstrong the leader singer in the band and used his features to sell the album.
Digipak

We wanted to keep a link between our digipak and our magazine advert. We tried to do this by using a similar image for both our digipack and our magazine advert which shows that there is a link between the two products. Our digipak cover does not look like most house music digipak's. This was our intentions as we wanted our product to be different and stand out in that way. We wanted to subvert from the stereotypical house album cover and instead make it look like a pop album like James Bays album.

Evaluation Question 2
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
The melodic house music genre is known to be unique and artistic in the way is conveys itself in a very unique yet powerful way. It rejects typical flashy and dramatic traits associated with the pop genre.
Arctic Monkeys Example:
In terms of the music promotion video, the Arctic Monkeys use a series of shot reverse shots to capture the energy of their music. In our music video we employed this technique to capture the different places of his whereabouts. Some scenes in A.M's video have been recorded live, whereas our has been recorded in several locations at different times over a period of several weeks.
The synergistic element of all three of our products (digipak, video and magazine advert) is our lead singer, who features on the face of every product. Comparatively, the full Arctic Monkey's band feature on the front of their digipaks/cd's/adverts. Our three products share this identity.
Our target audience reckon that our products are successful in creating a large fan base. This is primarily because our lead singer features on all three products, and so this means he is the attraction, particularly with a young female audience.

Evaluation Question 4
How did you use new technologies in the constructions and research, planning and evaluation stages?
The use of new technology was vital to the construction of my research, planning and my product itself. I had knowledge and experience of some of these technologies which allowed me make the best products possible. The use of new technologies is a key factor in creating media, and therefore for me creating the product through the use of these technologies so they would look modern, professional and realistic.
Planning
In research, the internet was my best resource in terms of the research for all of my products. For example YouTube was very useful as I used it to watch both historical and contemporary music videos like 'Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean'. This helped supplement my initial research of music videos to identify conventions like titles but more importantly how music video's conformed to Goodwin's theory, for example how women are stereotypically the point of voyeurism from men or how there may be a relationship between lyrics and visuals. I Then watched other videos within the house genre and other electronic dance music e.g. 'My Love' by Route 94 to see the style of house music videos and what i would have liked to achieve with my music video.
In the construction of our music video, the most significant piece of equipment used was the Canon EOS 650D, allowing me to film in high definition producing sharp and professional footage, enabling us to film in a variety of locations and environments whilst still getting the best quality possible. The camera was versatile and in these different environments we were able to adjust the setting in accordance to the environment we were in; lighting settings.
Settings needed to be changed when filming in the day time and the night time, which was a main feature of our music video.
Final cut was used in the essential stage of post-production, a video editing soft ware which allowed me to use tools allowing me to trim, cut, copy and paste the recorded footage, adding transitions, effects and also music. The vast memory of the Apple Mac's i used allowed me to store vast amounts of footage which made the process easier and allowed us to use the same computer for the whole editing of the video. This helped us in the professional creation of the music video because it had the tools giving us the ability to shape the video the way we wanted.
I have used technology throughout the creation of my product and in the presentation of my evaluation of my product: combining Blogger, Final cut pro, Youtube, Powerpoint and Slideshare and Prezi, Using Powerpoint and uploading my slide onto slideshare, uploading my edited videos from Final cut pro onto Youtube and then all of these onto Blogger.

Mid shots-
-Mid shot (Low angle)
Performance shots (high angle)-
We used a Cannon 1100 D to capture the images we needed to create our magazine advert and our digipak. The quality of this camera and the variety of lenses allowed us to capture the highest possible quality photos which were highly professional and in turn made our print products professional.

Evaluation
I embedded multiple links into my Blogger, I've captured elements of my produts through screen grabs which enabled me to show in detail, how i created my products and looked into the quality they're captured in.
Through the use of technology i was able to evaluate my products effectively and give others an insight into the research, planning and creation of y Music video, magazine advert and digipak.
